Unplanned Power Outages in your Area

Please be patient if you experience electricity interruptions while any repairs take place. you can be sure that we will be working hard to restore power as quickly and safely as possible.

To be prepared for a sudden power shut down, we recommend you keep items you may need during an outage in an easy-to-access place. Things you should include:

  • Cell Phones - Everyone has a cell phone and you can use it as your lighting (alternative to flashlight) to find the necessary stuff you need during automatic shutdown. Don’t drain your batteries for you might use your cell phone to call for an emergency even for a minute.  If possible keep it fully charged during the time the electricity is on.

  • Flashlight - This is basically the most important thing to have especially at night. It’s impossible to move around when we can’t see anything. Walking around in a dark surrounding is very dangerous since we don’t know what we’re stepping on.

  • There are many kinds of flashlights you can buy from the department store or hardware. If you have a cell phone with built in LED flashlight, good thing for you. It is more practical.

  • Portable FM/AM Radio – Brownouts are frequent during stormy weather. Having a portable radio is important to listen news and updates about what’s happening. In worst case scenario, it will inform us whether we need to evacuate or not. It might be a life saver.

  • Ready to Eat Goods – We can’t predict when electricity comes back. Cooking during brownouts might be difficult and time consuming since nowadays we used electric cooking devices like the rice cooker, microwave, electric, etc. You can set aside can goods and packed meals for instant and convenient food preparation during this kind of event.

  • Hand-held fan – Without electricity, there will be no cooling system. Having an alternative fan “Abaniko”  which doesn’t require electricity is a great choice rather than suffer from sweating.

  • Bottled Water – Don’t forget to have one of this. We need water to replace the fluids that had been lost from our body. It can also help cools our body when it’s hot inside the house.

  • Spare Batteries – Having some spare batteries and charging them up will be important to you weather on different kinds of gadgets to be use in case of emergency.

Brownout has been always part of our daily living in this modern world. Things mentioned above are the things which are necessary to have during this kind of event.
